From Apr 25th to 27th, CIRS attended the WAC 2022 and was proud to speak at the conference regarding the adhesive and sealant product compliance in China. This international event, held in Chicago, IL, took place at Hilton Chicago downtown. Having expected to make a big slash after most travel strictions were lifted, the event holder, the Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) decided to invite speakers and exhibitors from all over the world. It successfully attracted 1000+ attendees and 90+ exhibitors across the industry, offering opportunities to share global market prospects, global regulatory insights, sustainability strategies and practices, advanced solutions and applications and cutting-edge research progress.
CIRS’s topic about product compliance in China was one of the four regulatory topics that ASC considered the most concerning to the audiences. Jim Mo, Deputy Manager of CIRS US and the speaker of the presentation, delivered an overview of China chemical regulations that are related to adhesives and sealants compliance, including China REACH, China Hazardous Chemical Registration, GHS, and VOC national standards. CIRS was highly recognized by ASC for its specialty in China Chemical regulations and was offered an opportunity to propose relevant topics as ASC’s future online sessions.
The objective of this presentation was to provide a structural mindset to regulatory professional or decision maker of a brand owner to approach regulatory compliance in China. The process of sharing this regional update with the audiences was mutually inspiring as the representatives from a few companies were concerned about insufficient resource to handle China regulatory affairs and the currently difficult situation affecting transportation of goods in Shanghai. CIRS understood these concerns and would continue to be the pioneer reporting China chemical regulations and transportation policy as the COVID out-break in Shanghai cools down.
WAC 2022 opened with inspiring speeches and ended with a wonderful Fitzgerald-style dinner & gala. Overall, the event was a huge success.
