On July 24, China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) held the inaugural meeting establishing the Cosmetics Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee). Attendees included officials from the NMPA’s Cosmetics Regulatory Department, the Medical Device Registration Department, relevant Committee leaders, and other concerned parties.
The meeting emphasized that the establishment of the Committee is a milestone for cosmetics administration in China. All members of the Committee should deeply understand the importance of cosmetics standardization work, strictly adhere to the requirements of the member management regulations, cherish the honor, actively fulfill their duties, and work at a high level to advance the standardization of cosmetics.
The establishment is an essential step to ensure the public safety of cosmetic products and promote high-quality development of the cosmetics industry. The meeting reviewed and approved the charter of the NMPA Cosmetics Standardization Technical Committee, the member management regulations, and the procedures for the formulation and revision of cosmetics standards.
