Due to the impact of the global COVID-19 epidemic, when applying for registration and filing of imported cosmetics, the applicant cannot submit original documents such as the Certificate of Free Sales in the country of origin, and the certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice. The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued a notice to adjust the form of submission for related documentary evidence on 16th Jun. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
During the process of registration or filing, if it is difficult to provide the original copy of the Certificate of Free Sales or the certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice due to the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control policy in the original country, a scanning copy will be acceptable. The corresponding responsible person in China shall provide relevant written explanations at the same time and promise to supplement and submit the corresponding originals after the epidemic situation is over.
If the copy of the relevant documents submitted for registration or filing is fraudulent, it shall be punished according to the relevant provisions of false declaration. In case the original copy is not submitted within the time limit after the end of the epidemic, it is not allowed to renew the license or the filed products will be canceled.
NMPA will dynamically adjust the requirements of the notification based on the progress of COVID-19 prevention and control globally.
