CIRS Group Attended the 2024 Cosmetics Europe Annual Conference, hosted by Cosmetics Europe, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, from June 19 to 20, 2024. The conference brought together officials from the European Union, representatives from regional associations, industry experts, and corporate representatives to discuss the future development direction of the cosmetics industry.
The conference covered a wide range of topics, including the future outlook of the cosmetics industry, the impact of artificial intelligence on the cosmetics industry, the European Green Deal (EGD), the development of the cosmetics market in Africa, the challenges of global cosmetics ingredients, and the comprehensive implementation of the Chinese Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR). Participants engaged in discussions around these themes, exploring strategies that the cosmetics industry should adopt in response to existing challenges and opportunities.
The Chinese session started on June 20. During this session, April Guo, General Manager of the Personal and Homecare Division of CIRS Group, detailed the latest developments in Chinese cosmetics regulations, with a focus on efficacy claims and evaluations, as well as the latest requirements for toothpaste.
During the conference, there was also a forward-looking discussion on the reinitiated regulatory cooperation between the European Commission and China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). This cooperation is seen as a positive signal, indicating that there may be more exchanges and collaborations in the future regarding cosmetics regulation and market access. This will not only help facilitate regulatory alignment and technical exchanges between the two sides but may also provide more international market opportunities for cosmetics companies.
