Edible vegetable oil is one of the imported foods with the largest import amount, which occupies one third of the amount of edible oil consumption in China. In order to strengthen the supervision on the imported edible vegetable oil, during Sep 16th to 27th 2014, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) sent out the official professional team to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to carry out the quality and safety management system investigation on imported edible vegetable oil for the first time.
The quality and safety management system inspection on edible vegetable oil involves several aspects, such as the quality and safety supervision system, law and regulation standard system, examination and supervision measures, laboratory resource allocation, pest management and pesticide use situations, production and storage procedure hygiene control and etc.
The oversea edible vegetable oil quality and safety management system investigation aims at the food safety management system and food safety condition inspection and evaluation on the main countries that export edible vegetable oil into China. This measure is very helpful to strengthen the resource control and provide significant insurance to maintain a strict standard of the quality and safety during import, to carry out a more convenient customs clearance measures and to manage the classification supervision.
